Mother's Day is almost here!
Every year, I try to have some type of craft my kids can take home and give to their moms, aunts, or grandmas. I have a few pictures from the past few years to share. In 2nd grade we made handprint butterflies since we learned all about butterflies. my kids loved getting their hands painted! It was always more fun for me to watch them squirm! This is an easy project my kids copied the poem and decorated the inside and outside of the card. We made the butterfly on white paper to be stapled inside so it could dry separately.
Last year in kindergarten we made these My Love Grows cards. The trick is that I had to fold the kids cards before I gave them to them to start. I gave my kinder kiddos tracers fro the pot and flower on top. The long green was a single strip folded and glued on.

Also this year I tried to have my kids grow flowers in the cute little pots I found at Target in the dollar bins. I was so excited to see that today they had sprouted!! I'm also going to try the "Breakfast in a Bag" idea from First Grade Friends to send home with the kids! Our K orientation is this thursday and Friday so I'm going to send oatmeal and a tea bag in the breakfast in a bag to the mom's actually get it. :-)
